It is commonly known, that heat insulation of window openings is one of the most efficient methods of energy saving: 25% of total heat loss fall on windows. It is proven, that roller shutter systems considerably reduce the heat loss and contribute to heating costs saving.
ALUTECH Group continues to perform the tests of roller shutters’ thermo-physical properties. Within the framework of these tests the thermographic control which is considered to be one of the most efficient and descriptive methods, has been carried out.
During the test a residential house was shot with the help of a special device - thermographic camera. The average outdoor temperature was 12ºС.
The result of test are several pictures of window openings with open (image 1) and closed (image 2) roller shutters.
In the picture taken by the thermographic camera the difference between heat loss through the windows with open roller shutters and that through windows with closed roller shutters is shown.
It is also clear from the pictures that the heat loss through side windows insignificantly remains. It is due to the shorter distance between the window and the roller shutter if compared to the central window. The optimal air space width ensuring the maximum heat loss reduction is 10-15 cm.
The thermographic control results have shown, that due to the open roller shutter curtain the indoor temperature increases and the outdoor window surface temperature falls by 4,3°С. It proves the energy efficiency of ALUTECH roller shutter systems.
Thus, the thermographic control confirms the results of the tests carried out in ift Rosenheim international institute (Germany). According to the results, roller shutters reduce heat loss through the windows by more than 30%.
We are sure that these measures will help us to raise our customers’ awareness of roller shutters benefits and contribute to the development of the window systems market.
